I recently spent a weekend in a charming seaside town, just an hour away from Barcelona. The hotel I stayed at was right in the heart of the picturesque old town, close to the train station. The room I had was spacious and comfortable, with a beautiful view of the town. The bathroom was clean and well-maintained. The staff provided excellent service, and the breakfast spread was delicious. The hotel also had a lovely pool and a rooftop terrace for relaxation. It was the perfect hideaway for a weekend getaway.
I was disappointed to find that some of the facilities, like the spa, were not included in the price.

The hotel is very nice, comfortable and quiet. We stayed in the old part, where the rooms have a more rustic style, and there is an area with sofas to relax and read. The bathroom is huge and very cool. The room is very nice, comfortable and clean. Everything is very quiet and calm. With the stay we had an hour access to the spa, small but well equipped. The wonderfully friendly spa girl. The breakfast was very complete and very good. All in all, a very pleasant stay, and a highly recommendable place!
bed was huge, we didn't find it 100% comfortable (maybe because of the hardness of the mattress). At some point I missed a little more light in the room (there were many lamps, they were all very dim, windows, being part of a historical building, were small and let little light through). pool area, not being in season, was a bit neglected.

Location, well maintained building, restaurant, has spa which from what we have read is small, staff attentive. Altafulla very small, at this time of year has no atmosphere, it is worth visiting the historic district that is around the hotel, road from Ronda that links Altafulla with Torredenbarra to the north and Tamariu to the south. Torredenbarra has more atmosphere, it is a bigger town with more services, just a stone's throw away. Tamariu is full of campsites,,,
We chose a room in the historical complex because of a comment I read here. Mistake. I don't know what they look like in the building where the reception is because we haven't seen them. Ours is a small, dark room, with almost no closet or space to leave the two cabin bags we were carrying. We asked for a double bed, they were two singles without a topper so the division of the two mattresses was very uncomfortable. We ended up with back pain, the mattresses in particular were very uncomfortable, the staff was very attentive, but at the reception the two girls who had to attend to us on arrival were almost 5 minutes on the clock without attending to us and there was no one else waiting, they were on the computer and talking to each other. We told the person in charge of the dining room, he said nothing and made the milk jug disappear. We had wanted to try this hotel for a long time, and we were very disappointed.

Our stay at Gran Claustre Restaurant & Spa was absolutely fabulous. The location is idyllic, situated in a charming old town with intimate restaurants nearby. The hotel itself is a beautiful building, integrating seamlessly into the old convent. Our room had a view of the pool and was gorgeous. The spa treatments were excellent, and we highly recommend the rooftop jacuzzi with a bottle of Cava. The breakfast bar was far better than what we've experienced in other hotels in Spain. it was the perfect place for a short break, just a short drive from the beach and within reach of Barcelona.
Couldn't find any faults at all 😊.

The hotel is located in a beautiful building and the rooms are highly specced, clean, and modern. The bed was very comfortable and the cleaning service was excellent. The breakfast offered a variety of options and the outdoor setting was great. The pool area looked just as it did in the pictures and we particularly enjoyed the jacuzzi on the terrace. The location of the hotel was ideal, with key attractions and amenities within easy reach. the hotel accommodated our request for additional storage for our bikes, providing a secure space.
The service at the hotel was slow and there was a lack of attention to detail. We had to wait about 30 minutes for our drinks and there was no "service with a smile".

It is a hotel in a privileged situation, in a charming village, ideal for couples, strongly focused on SPA tourism. To emphasize the kindness and sincerity of the employees. I also liked that it is very well adapted for those who require the use of a wheelchair, at least the accesses from the outside. The quality/price ratio is not right.
There are several details that should be corrected urgently, I give some examples.. The lighting in the corridors is insufficient, the amenities (of the toilet) are not those of a 4 star hotel and these prices (I can understand that in low season, reduce costs and services) but also the prices... In the shower room there is no place to leave the jar of gel, nor are there towel hangers next to it. In the room I used, there was a hole in the wall, covered with toilet paper. The following is inadmissible. I was assigned a room that:. I had no system to prevent light from entering a window. (Opaque curtain). I had no curtain on the other window, but 2 opaque curtains. . . Some light bulb was fused.. Some switch wasn't working. The drain of the shower tray was not swallowing well and it was coming out, I had to use a towel so that the water didn't reach the room. I hope you will take these comments seriously and correct them.

Located in the heart of the beautiful historic area full of charming restaurants this hotel offers comfortable and modern rooms with dreamy beds, spacious bathrooms and stunning views from some of the rooms. The renovated facilities, such as the beautiful modern pool and rooftop jacuzzi, provide a perfect place to relax. The attentive staff is always ready to help with any requests and provide directions.
Spa treatments and pool area could benefit from some improvements.

Room very comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast - excellent selection of fresh fruit, cereals and cold and cooked breakfast. Good pool and terrace for a town hotel.
Service.Reception staff not friendly or particularly helpful( though one was very helpful and friendly.) Reported minor problem with the room but not attended to- broken window handle. Self Service Breakfast room - on 2 of the 3 mornings dirty plates not cleared and left on several tables throughout breakfast time though waitress came in and laid up one table. Restaurant. We were one of only 3 couples in the restaurant but again service not friendly and very slow and left sitting waiting to order then to get the bill. Whilst advertising a bar we sat there at 8 pm for a drink but no one came to serve us though staff walked past us.

hotel staff is very attentive.. building that we were in (the one with the swimming pool) is beautiful because it is all old and made of stone. super nice pool area.. room was big and bed comfortable, with a decoration according to the building.. patio dels tarongers seemed spectacular to me, since it is in a courtyard of the castle.
hotel is sort of divided into two parts, one in front of the other. In one building there is a part of the rooms and swimming pool and in the other one the rest of the rooms, spa and breakfast area and restaurant. Our room was rustic - old and although it was big we didn't have a balcony, wardrobe was old and small and bathtub was very old (not suitable for a 4 star hotel, is what disappointed me most). We found the breakfast a bit fair and strange, since there is no buffet, they serve you some dishes at the table. We tried the beach club restaurant and bar one day, it is well thought out but the staff was quite green. location, good and bad, is quite far from the beach (you have to go down by car or take a good walk) but it is in the heart of the old town of Altafulla which is beautiful.

The hotel is in a quiet location in the historic center. The restored convent building provides fabulous accommodation. There are spa facilities and a beach club with shuttle service.
The hotel staff provided excellent service, always willing to help with any request. Nothing was too much trouble.
